What does a Veterinary Care Assistant do?
The Veterinary Care Assistant will be responsible for providing a high standard of clinical care to animals in the veterinary clinic whilst promoting animal welfare and supporting our internal and external Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses.
They will provide supportive care for animals receiving treatment, including the monitoring and treatment of animals kept as in-patients. They will also be responsible for upholding the hygiene standards of the clinic and providing support to the clinic reception when required, delivering excellent levels of client and customer care, and promoting the good image of the Scottish SPCA.

What makes a good Veterinary Care Assistant?
Education to Higher Level (Scotland) or A- Level/equivalent
Practical experience working with animals.
Proven experience working with the public and delivering a good customer experience.
Working as part of a team.
Previous experience in a Veterinary clinical environment
Commitment to animal welfare
Client and customer focussed ways of working.
Resilient and calm in face of difficult situations
Full, driving licence
Willingness to work within group shift pattern
